Personality is a Multifaced aspect of Human psychology.
Personality is a complex and multifaced aspect of Human psychology that influences our thoughts, feelings and Behaviours.
It's the unique combination of traits characteristics and patterns of behaviour that defines who we are as individuals.
Different Theories of Personality
There are many different theories of personality, but one of the most divided accepted in the Five factors model. This model identifies Five broad Dimensions of Personality.
The Big Five Personality Traits
1. Openness
This Dimension reflects a person's willingness to experience new ideas and concepts people who score high an openness tend to be curious, creative and imaginative.
2. Conscientiousness
This Dimension reflects a person's level of organisation, responsibility and dependability. People who score high on conscientiousness tend to be reliable, hard working and goal-oriented.
3. Extra version
This Dimension reflects a person's level of sociability, assertiveness and energy. People who score high on extra version tend to be outgoing, energetic and talkative.
4. Agreeableness
This Dimension reflects a person's level of compassion, empathy and cooperation. People who score high on agreeableness tend to be kind, considerate and cooperative.
5. Neurotic Isms
This Dimension reflects a person's level of emotional instability and anxiety. People who score high on Neurotic Isms tend to be anxious, moody and prone to negative emotions.
While these five Dimensions provide a useful framework for understanding Personality, it is important to remember that they are not the only factors that influence our behaviour.
Other factors, such as our upbringing, life experience and cultural background, can also play a significant role in shaping our Personality.
