Abuse is any behaviour that is meant to control, intimidate, or harm another person.
Common Types of Abuse
- Physical Abuse - Physical Abuse is any intentional use of force against another person that results in harm. Physical Abuse can include hitting slapping, pushing, kicking, and any other use of force that causes physical harm. Victims of Physical Abuse may experience physical injuries, emotional trauma, and Long term health problems.
- Verbal Abuse - Verbal Abuse is any use of Language that is meant to control,intimidate. Verbal abuse can take many forms threats. It can be just as harmful as physical abuse and can cause long term emotional damage.
- Sexual Abuse - Sexual Abuse in any kind of unwanted sexual activity, including touching. It can happen to people of any age and gender. It is important to seek help if you or someone you know has experienced Sexual abuse.
- Financial Abuse - financial abuse Is a form of domestic violence where one partner uses money or financial resources to control the other partner.it can include preventing the other partner from working controlling their access to money running up debt in their name, or stealing their money or property.
- Digital Abuse - digital abuse is a type of domestic violence where one partner uses technology to control,harass, or intimidate the other partner. It can include monitoring their online activity, sending threatening or harassing message or sharing intimidate photos or videos without their consent.
Some Tips to become more powerful to fight against Abuse
- Educate yourself about abuse and it's warning ⚠️ signs.
- Build a support network of friends and family who can help you in times of need.
- Set Boundaries and communicate them clearly with others.
- Practice self care and priorities your physical and emotional well-being.
- Seek, professional help if you are experiencing abuse of trauma.
- Develop a safety plan in case of emergency.
- Trust your instincts and take steps to protect yourself if you feel unsafe.
